What does mushroom chocolate taste like?
Mostly like dark chocolate. The cacao is the dominant flavour, with a gentle sweetness from the coconut sugar and a hint of vanilla. The Lion’s Mane adds a very mild earthiness in the background, similar to what you might notice in a good quality dark chocolate with a high cacao percentage. It does not taste “mushroomy” in the way you might expect from cooking mushrooms.
The texture is smooth and rich thanks to the three-day stone grinding process. It snaps cleanly and melts well. If you enjoy 70%+ dark chocolate, this will feel familiar.

Where it comes from
The chocolate is made by Radek’s Chocolate in Bristol using organic, fair-trade cacao beans. The Lion’s Mane is grown and extracted by Bristol Fungarium on their organic farm in Somerset. Their native strain was cloned from a wild specimen found around 500 metres from the farm, making it one of the only truly indigenous Lion’s Mane products available in England.
